The basil in my garden has been doing extremely well. Even after giving away bowls full of basils, I still have more basil than I needed. So last week, after some gardening, I decided to freeze some basil for future uses.
Option One:: Freeze basil leaves in cubes of water. This way, whenever you want fresh basil, you can just defrost a cube of ice.
Option Two:: Puree basil in olive oil and freeze in ice tray. This is great when you want to make pesto sauce or any other basil based sauce.
There are many options but I find these two options to be the simplest.
