Okay, this stack of cases isn’t as big as the title of this post may have led you to imagine but this is the leftover stack of CD cases. We actually had stacks and stacks of the slim jewel cases from back when they were all the rave. Now that music are in the form of mp3s and backups are saved to the cloud (KT hates it when I use this word – but that’s another story), we really don’t have a need for CDs and jewel cases.
I couldn’t bring myself to toss out these cases, and I doubt anyone would want them so I was wondering how I can repurpose them. Then I remembered reading this post from almost a year ago. So I cleaned off my bulletin board where I will be hanging my pictures in jewel cases and I printed out a few of my favorite pictures from our home printer.
I decided to use the first half of the bulletin board to hang the pictures and keep the bottom half for all of my papers. (Yes, that’s Monster’s Certificate of Achievement. I’m a proud mama.) Seven jewel cases fit perfectly across the length of the board.
I hung them up using tiny colorful tacks. For some added hold, I put some tape behind the cases to make sure they don’t rain down on my while I’m sitting at my desk. I have to say, my office is starting to come together. Remember this?
Please disregard the “currently” across the picture. This is a picture of what our shared office looks like at the beginning of the year.
This is what it looks like now. We still have a long way to go but we’re getting there. It’s a work in progress.
