37 days to go | Gender Reveal

It’s 2:30 in the morning and my mind can’t seem to shut off.  My mind is wandering and I imagine that’s how this post will go as well.

Update: As I was writing this post, I realized I should do the gender reveal for those who couldn’t make it to the baby shower – WE’RE HAVING A BOY!

My sisters and parents just threw us an awesome baby shower and I haven’t been that stimulated since I started working from home.  I haven’t seen or talked to so many people since our short stay at the hospital a few weeks back.  And I have to say, it was great to see everyone.  I can’t wait to see the pictures that everyone took.

Also since the hospital stay, I haven’t driven much since I don’t really have a need to.  I drove myself to the dentist a couple of weeks ago and I felt like a new driver – unsure and a little nervous.  I’m surprised with how quickly I fell out of my comfort zone after not driving for only a month.

Other random things I started noticing – I’m having a lot more difficulty catching my breath, even from the slightest movements; by the time I realize I’m overworking myself, it’s too late – I end up spending a day in bed recuperating; Monster is constantly begging for my attention (or maybe just treats) even when KT is throwing him cookies left and right.

We’re finally trying (really trying) to clean out the spare room so we can set up the nursery.  KT and I were never really the overly excited expectant parents who childproof everything once we found out we’re expecting.  We just kind of went along doing our usual thing and planned on setting up the nursery about a month before our estimated due date.  What we failed to realized is that I might not be physically able to help out in transforming our spare room into a nursery.   Now that it’s really a one man show, I’m worried about KT getting it done before the baby arrives.  I try to help out when I feel recharged but I’m still going at half speed and can only last half the amount of time.  Worse case scenario, we don’t get it done but I guess that’s really not the end of the world since we’re planning on keeping the baby in the bassinet in our bedroom for a while.

We still haven’t decided on a name for our baby boy. We have a first name under consideration but it doesn’t go with the middle name we picked out.  We’ll be trying out some middle names to see if we can come up with something that fits.

Thanks again family for such a wonderful baby shower and to everyone who was able to come out!!  We had a lovely time! Have a great Veteran’s Day weekend.
